Exhibition highlights work from SUNY Brockport faculty
The faculty of the Department of Art at SUNY Brockport are all practicing artists who exhibit nationally and internationally. In the upcoming Department of Art Faculty Exhibition, they are presenting their most recent works which encompass a variety of media, including ceramics, sculpture, drawing, painting, graphic design, and mixed media, while also incorporating new technologies. The show will run from September 6 through October 9. The gallery is located at 180 Holley Street, Brockport, and the exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours for this exhibition are Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. An opening reception will take place on Tuesday, September 6, at 4 p.m.
Jennifer Hecker, currently serving as interim gallery director, is showing several multi-media works, including “Rain Maker, which addresses that age-old desire to make it rain – given new relevance in this age of droughts and water crises brought on by global warming – and Alchemy, which celebrates the magical, transmutative power of water.”
Additional faculty members participating in the show include Sarah Ballard, Emma Brooks, Autumn Brown, Chris Carson, Alisia Chase, Duncan Chase, Mitchell Christensen, Sara DiDonato, Kitty Hubbard, Lori Mills, and Janet Winkie.
