Rochester author Clarissa J. Markiewicz will be signing copies of her new mystery, The Paramour Pawn, as well as her Christmas novel, Christmas In Whimsy, at Lift Bridge Book Shop on Saturday, October 29, from noon to 2 p.m.
Just in time for the spooky season, The Paramour Pawn, set at Halloween, introduces friendly local game store owner Eleanor Shore, who finds herself caught up in a small-town murder investigation. She has secret mystical abilities that may help her uncover a devious plot, or that may just get her killed too.
Christmas In Whimsy is a heartwarming story about three women who call on a mystical local legend for help in balancing their topsy-turvy lives. “It’s like a TV holiday movie in a book,” said Markiewicz about her Christmas novel. “I like stories I can cozy up with, stories with characters and places I don’t want to leave and that have just a little bit of magic. ‘Whimsy’ and ‘Pawn’ both offer that, and Lift Bridge is the perfect spot for a signing because the shop gives customers that same warm feeling.”
