Greater Rochester Chamber, RIT selectedas finalists for Workforce Innovation Awards

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and the Rochester Institute of Technology have been selected as finalists for The Business Council of New York State’s inaugural Workforce Innovation Awards in the Business and Higher Education categories, respectively. The award recognizes organizations that have implemented innovative approaches to attract, develop, and retain talent in New York State.

“Attracting, retaining, and developing talent is crucial to the success of our region’s economy, and both Greater Rochester Chamber and RIT are committed to finding innovative solutions to help our members and the community thrive,” said Bob Duffy, President & CEO of Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce has been actively working to address the workforce challenges facing the region through initiatives such as TalentEdge, CampusROC, Greater ROC Careers, Greater ROC Remote, Veterans Connect, and Work Together ROC, which links businesses and community members with workforce organizations to assist with career education and exploration.

RIT’s “RIT Certified” program is reimagining the way workforce education makes a real impact for the individuals who need it the most through employer-informed training, job access, progression, upward mobility, and meaningful work.

The winners of The Business Council’s Workforce Innovation Awards will be announced on Wednesday, April 19, on the organization’s social media platforms. The award ceremony will recognize winners in several categories, including Business, Higher Education, and Non-Profit.
