Registration now open for ADA youth camps
The American Diabetes Association is bringing back its ADA Camps for summer 2023.
Registration for ADA Camp Aspire at Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, 809 Five Points Road, Rush, is now open and will remain open until capacity is reached or camp begins. ADA Camp Aspire is an acronym for “Always Sharing Priceless, Inspirational, Rewarding Experiences.”
Camper session dates are:
•Week 1 – June 25 through 30 for ages 13 to 17;
•Week 2 – July 2 through 7 for ages ages eight to 12.
The ADA offers day and overnight camps across the nation to more than 2,500 youth living with diabetes. The ADA’s team of employees, medical professionals, and volunteers will be there for new and returning campers, guiding them in managing their diabetes while providing the support and tools to try new and exciting experiences with confidence. All camps are equipped with diabetes supplies and insulins, including blood glucose monitors, fast-acting carbs for lows, and additional supplies for CGM and pump site changes.
ADA Camps offer a unique and life-changing experience for youth living with diabetes. All of the campers last year participated in at least four hours of physical activities daily, received mealtime support from dietary staff, gained hands-on experience in improving their diabetes management skills, and made new friendships. ADA believes no camper should be turned away due to the cost, so financial assistance is available.
