A new flag pole was installed at the Hilton softball stadium in memory of Danene Sneddon Smith, a member of the Hilton HS class of 1995 and Hilton Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2001. It was donated by her family. A ceremony was held and the flag raised for the first time before the May 17 softball game in which Hilton defeated Churchville-Chili 9-7.
