On September 9, members of the Gates Fire District participated in the annual National Fallen Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb held at Innovative Field. During the event, firefighters and community members come together to honor the sacrifice made by 343 FDNY firefighters by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. The team was proud to win the award for most money raised by a single team. All the funds go to families of fallen firefighters.
