Local author to present book on Upstate literary figures’ graves
The Brockport Community Museum will host former Brockport resident Steve Huff in the parlor of the Morgan-Manning House on Thursday, November 16, to present his new book Resting Among Us: Authors’ Gravesites in Upstate New York (released October 15 by Syracuse University Press).
Utilizing historical documents, detailed photos and personal connections, Huff takes readers on a journey through cities, towns and backroads of New York in search of the resting places of authors who called Upstate home, raising awareness of the region’s deep literary heritage along the way.
Early American novelist Mary Jane Holmes and poet Al Poulin are Brockport representatives in Huff’s book, which will be available for purchase in both paperback and hardcover editions at the event with special thanks to Lift Bridge Book Shop.
Huff’s presentation will begin at 7 p.m., followed by refreshments and a book signing. The Morgan-Manning House is located at 151 Main Street, Brockport.
