Yuletide in the Country Theatrical Tours and Dinners
Visit GCV&M on December 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, for Yuletide in the Country. Explore the wintry Historic Village by candlelight and be invited into scenes that highlight celebrations and gatherings as they would have looked throughout the 1800s. Highlights will include a look at the Italian-American tradition of Festi dei Setti Pesci, French Noël, a family’s Hanukkah gathering, St. Lucy’s Day, a traditional tree lighting, and more. You may even encounter that jolly old elf, St. Nick. General admission for Yuletide Tours is $30, and admission for Museum Members is $26. Yuletide Tours can be paired with a festive dinner – a GCV&M tradition featuring savory and sweet holiday dishes. Yuletide Dinners are $32 for adults and $20 for guests 10 and under (children ages 3 and under are free). Breakfasts with St. Nick
On Saturday, December 16, GCV&M will be offering a holiday favorite, the annual Breakfast with St. Nick. Guests can enjoy a sweet and savory buffet breakfast, take a holiday photo with St. Nick, write letters to Santa, wrap up their holiday shopping in the Flint Hill Store, and more. Holiday Open House
On Sunday, December 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., families can celebrate the season by exploring the festive Historic Village during GCV&M’s Holiday Open House. See villagers bustling with winter tasks and offering greetings to their neighbors and friends. Bring the whole family for self-guided tours through historic homes that are warmed by fires and alive with holiday lights, candles, and traditional decorations. Visit the D.B. Munger & Co. Confectionery for a historical treat, shop the Flint Hill Store, take a family photo in a number of charming selfie stations around the Village, and more. General admission is $15 for adults, $10 for youth 3 to 12, $12 for adult museum members, $7 for museum member youth, and children three and under are free. Holiday Afternoon Tea in the Village
Visitors are invited to enjoy a holiday tradition – Afternoon Teas on December 13, 14, 20 and 21. Set in the museum’s festively-decorated and cheerful fireside lounge, this event includes an exploration of holiday-time traditions of the 19th century, as well as shopping in the Flint Hill Store. Afternoon Tea features a selection of tea varieties, finger sandwiches, and sweet treats. Wine and mimosas will also be available for purchase. North Pole Night
Families will find another opportunity to meet St. Nick at a new festive favorite – North Pole Night on Saturday, December 22, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Think Breakfast with St. Nick, but supper. Visitors will enjoy a pasta dinner in GCV&M’s festively decorating Meeting Center Dining Room, complete with holiday cheer, shopping in the Flint Hill Store, and the jolly old elf himself. Take a family photo with St. Nick, write a letter to Santa, and more! Tickets are $18 for adults, $13 for youth 3 to 12, and children ages 2 and under are free. Historic Holiday Cookies
The D.B. Munger & Co. Confectionery at GCV&M will be filling orders of fresh, homemade cookies again this holiday season. Cookie varieties include a number of favorites like ginger nuts, springerles, ox tongue cookies, teacakes, chocolate-dipped jumbles, and more.
