Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair supports local rescue efforts for homeless pets

Ogden resident Connie Marianetti, founder of Crafting for a Cause, began organizing local crafters who have a heart for the homeless pet population in the community earlier this year. “It’s been heartbreaking to see the number of homeless cats since Covid and the burden it is putting on our local rescues,” said Marianetti.

To help, the crafters from Crafting for a Cause have been donating items and proceeds to support those who help the homeless pet community. “The proceeds have been helping various rescue efforts and the Hamlin Pet Food Pantry,” she said.

On Sunday, December 10, they are hosting a Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Churchville Moose Lodge, 5709 Chili Riga Center Road. In addition to the proceeds supporting local efforts to help local homeless pets there will also be a food drive accepting non perishable food and personal care items for the Spencerport Ecumenical Food Shelf. All are welcome to stop by for fun, food, raffles and shopping.

To learn more about this grassroots group helping to lighten the local homeless pet community, their next meeting is January 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ogden Farmers’ Library and is open to the public.
