The Rochester Press-Radio Club will distribute $25,000 to area charities at its December 7 Luncheon at the DoubleTree Henrietta.
The success of the 6th annual golf tournament in September enables the club to support grants based on the established criteria through its officers, board, club members, and the community. The fundraising targets three areas: Families in Need, Special Needs, and Adaptive Sports.
“We are thrilled to continue our club’s tradition to help raise money for worthy children’s charities in our community,’’ said Debra Salmon, the club’s president.
The mission of the Rochester Press-Radio Club is to support the Rochester Press-Radio Children’s Charities Fund, Inc. through fundraising, volunteering and support for causes benefiting children and families in Rochester and the surrounding areas provided by an inclusive and committed group of volunteers.
Since the Press-Radio Club’s inception in 1949, it has donated more than a million dollars to Rochester charities.
