Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce has announced the inaugural Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards, in partnership with Insero & Co. CPAs. The awards celebrate the achievements of the region’s fastest-growing minority- and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs), highlighting their ongoing success through growth rankings based on revenue increases, taking into account both percent increase and actual dollar amount.

Minority- and women-owned businesses seeking recognition through the Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards can apply annually through a straightforward application process. The top rankings in two categories (MBE and WBE) and all qualified entries will be unveiled to the community prior to the Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards celebration on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The winners in each category will receive a cash prize from Greater Rochester Chamber to reinvest in their organizations. At this celebration, the Chamber will join Monroe County to recognize all MWBEs that have registered in the past year, accessing new opportunities to grow.

Organizations looking to apply or learn more about award criteria can do so online at https://www.greaterrochesterchamber.com/programs-events/signature-events/greater-rochester-mwbe-awards/. Applications will remain open through February 23, 2024. Financial information provided in applications will remain strictly confidential.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said, “In the spirit of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, Monroe County proudly supports the Greater Rochester Chamber MWBE Awards. The MWBE certification process is not just a recognition, it’s a pathway to new opportunities and growth. Monroe County is committed to helping MWBEs to thrive and contribute to the economic vitality of our community. We look forward to applauding all MWBEs that have registered in the past year, and joining Greater Rochester Chamber to celebrate the inaugural MWBE Awards.”

Greater Rochester Chamber President & CEO Bob Duffy said, “We are excited to launch this new MWBE Awards program for the Greater Rochester region. Diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and yet minority- and women-owned businesses have not always been given the recognition they are due. We are proud to celebrate the fastest-growing MWBE organizations that are shaping Greater Rochester into the vibrant region it is today, and to break down the barriers that have historically been in place for MWBEs to create new opportunities and fuel their growth.”

These Awards are part of Greater Rochester Chamber’s ongoing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives targeted at uplifting MWBEs in the Greater Rochester region, and is supported in part by Greater Rochester Chamber Foundation.
