Start 2024 by gathering family and friends to experience the beauty of winter and the snow firsthand on snowshoes. As part of the On the Canals program, the Village of Brockport will be holding a snowshoeing event on New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. Meet at the Brockport Welcome Center, 11 Water Street.
In partnership with On the Canals, the Village of Brockport has purchased snowshoes and winter trekking poles in a variety of weight limits (reserve the appropriate equipment when registering). Participants will be traveling along the canal starting at the Main Street lift bridge parking area and traveling west and then turn around and return to the beginning. The mode of transportation will be snowshoes or, if there is not enough snow, the trek will be a hike.
Enjoy the peaceful trek along the canal with lots of winter wildlife. The event is suitable for beginners of any age and fitness level. If you can walk, you can snowshoe.
