The Town of Sweden conducted a water quality/quantity survey over the past six weeks in areas of the town without access to public water. The survey also focused on property owners’ desire for water and support at different cost levels. The data has been forwarded to the town’s engineer, MRB Group, for analysis in conjunction with engineering constraints and federal funds criteria.
Once the engineers have finished their review, they will meet with the Town Board to develop a plan for a potential new water district. The Sweden Town Board will host a public meeting at that time to share the data and possibilities. Once a project is selected, the town will begin the lengthy process of filing a Rural Development grant and low-interest loan application.
