Jim VanBrederode launches campaign for State Senate
On May 1, former police chief and state senate candidate, Jim VanBrederode, launched his campaign for the 56th district at the Rochester Police Locust Club among a crowd of nearly 100 supporters.
“My whole career has been building a team, building one community here in Rochester where everyone is valued and their ideas are welcomed. That was my job as police chief, to build bridges, bring the community together, because at the end of the day we all want the same thing. The working class families in this district want safe streets, we want to be able to make an honest living, and we don’t want the lives of our family and friends impacted by the opioid crisis,” said Jim VanBrederode.
He continued, “In my 30 years of serving this Rochester community, I have fought to combat the current problems hurting our working class families – crime, opioid addiction, a lackluster economy – I’m going to Albany to be a pitbull for the people of this district.”
The district is currently represented by Senator Jeremy Cooney, a Democrat, who is running for re-election.
