Blood drive July 31 in memory of Joseph Marhatta
A blood drive in memory of Joseph Marhatta will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the American Legion, Ferris Goodridge Post 330, 691 Trimmer Road, Spencerport.
Joe Marhatta worked for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years, retiring as an Investigator-Sergeant. After a two-year stint as a private investigator, he served for 10 years as a Violent Felony Investigator at the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, retiring in 2011.
Joe was also involved in the community. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 292 in North Chili, sponsored by the Chili Lions Club, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. Active in the American Legion for 23 years, Marhatta held the various offices, including Commander of Monroe County American Legion and Commander of Ferris Goodridge Post 330.
Celebrate life and make a difference by giving blood at this special drive in memory of Joseph Marhatta. Blood is needed for many different kinds of patients. It could be a young child with a rare blood disorder, a family member fighting cancer, or a friend involved in a car accident.
