Monroe County Legislators pass ARPA funding for local municipalities
As your County Legislators, we are thrilled to announce a significant victory for our community: millions of dollars in new funding for our towns across the county, specifically aimed at enhancing senior, veteran, and youth recreation programs through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This funding will be directly allocated to our towns, ensuring that local leaders have the control to make meaningful, real-world impacts right here in our neighborhoods.
For our seniors and youth, this means expanded opportunities – from new senior programs and enhanced transportation services to enriched after-school recreation initiatives. We are eager to see the positive changes these funds will bring to our community.
In addition, we’re excited to announce the launch of new veteran service centers, including a dedicated location on the westside, bringing essential services and support directly to our heroes who have sacrificed so much for us.
We’ve also secured additional funding for our local library system, focused on providing accessible internet and digital devices to those in need. This initiative will help bridge the digital divide, ensuring that everyone – from job seekers to students – has access to the tools and resources necessary to thrive in the 21st century. Combined with our ongoing Broadband Initiative, we’re committed to ensuring that every household, farm, and small business in our county has access to high-speed internet.
As your Republican Legislators, we remain dedicated to strengthening our families, creating jobs, and building vibrant neighborhoods. While there’s always more work to be done, these initiatives mark a significant step forward in our shared mission.
