The Village of Brockport is offering the following free events through the On the Canals program sponsored by the New York Power Authority.
Birding Around the Erie Canal in Brockport
September 7, 14 and 21
Ready to discover the world of birds? Join this one-hour introductory bird walk in Brockport’s Corbett Park and along the Erie Canal. No experience needed – just bring your curiosity. Learn how to use binoculars/monoculars to spot our feathered friends and be introduced to the common birds in our area. It’s the perfect way to enjoy nature, learn something new, and have a great time outdoors. Bird Walks are open to participants age 10 and up. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Sam Patch Canal Boat Cruise on the Erie Canal in Brockport

September 22 at 9:30 a.m.
These free 90-minute cruises depart from the Welcome Center in Brockport. See the legendary Erie Canal in and around Brockport on a replica historic packet boat. Cruises offer a rare perspective on the region’s cultural heritage, offering live narration and a step back in time.
