The H-P Senior Center offers a variety of programs and events throughout the month. All programs are held at the Hilton Community Center, 59 Henry Street, and pre-registration is encouraged. •Caseworker Service – First Tuesday of the month (November 5, December 3), 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., call for an appointment.
•Feature Film – The Boys In The Boat, Wednesday, November 6, 2 to 4 p.m. Free, drinks and popcorn provided.
•Nutrition with Cornell Cooperative Extension – Thursday, November 7, 11 a.m., free. Topic: Prepare for Thanksgiving Feast.
•Computers with Daniel – Thursday, November 14, 9 a.m., free. Topic: What is Instagram?
•Alzheimer’s Class: Responding to Dementia Related Behaviors – Thursday, November 14, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., free.
•Presenting with Pizza – Monday, November 18, 10:30 a.m., free. Andrea Patterson, Director of Braddock Bay Bird Observatory, will talk about the joyful moments, surprising revelations, and occasional heartbreak of birding in the hand. Enjoy a full lunch with a slice of pizza, fruit, salad, and a drink. (Optional contributions accepted for the lunch.)
•Medicare Session – Monday, November 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m., free. Topic: How to Choose a Plan with assistance from Lifespan. Medicare counselors with nothing to sell will talk about: 2025 premiums, deductibles, and co-insurance costs; available Medicare Advantage and Medigap Plans and how to determine which best meet your needs; how Part D works, including the donut hole; and instruction on how to use Medicare’s Plan Finder tool to determine which plans cover your prescription drugs at the lowest cost.
