Jason Brownlie

For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has committed to advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Through the Heart of Rochester’s Heart Ball campaign, Gavin Brownlie, CEO of Crosby Brownlie, Inc., and Jason Brownlie, COO of Crosby Brownlie, Inc., will work together to lead community-wide efforts to help ensure every individual in Rochester has the opportunity for a full, healthy life. The Heart Ball celebrates hope and progress made through the dedication and passion of all who support the American Heart Association’s efforts to make an impact on the health of the community. These efforts include the relentless pursuit of scientific discovery, public policy change, equitable health for the under-resourced and under-represented, and education to equip the community to take control of their health.“Gavin and Jason demonstrate outstanding leadership and dedication as Executives at Crosby Brownlie, Inc. Their passion and commitment to the American Heart Association’s mission, deep understanding of community needs, and unwavering drive to make a difference positions them as the perfect choice to chair this event,” says Megan Vargulick, Executive Director at the Rochester American Heart Association. “We welcome Gavin Brownlie and Jason Brownlie to the Heart of Rochester, an initiative that centers around better health for every individual by focusing on critical issues and works to equitably improve and save lives.”

Gavin Brownlie

Gavin Brownlie, CEO, has been a volunteer for the American Heart Association for many years. When presented with the opportunity to lead the 2025 Heart Ball campaign, Gavin wanted his brother, Jason, to be by his side. They plan to approach this year’s campaign with teamwork and determination to make it an overwhelming success.

“I am honored to serve as a 2025 Rochester Heart Ball Co-Chair alongside my brother,” said Gavin Brownlie. “I am eager to raise significant funds to drive the American Heart Association’s mission and spread awareness to the Rochester community and beyond about heart attack and stroke education, CPR training, health equity and more. We must do whatever it takes to create a better tomorrow for all people in Rochester.”

Both Gavin and Jason have a personal connection to heart disease and stroke. Their father is a heart attack survivor, and their mother and Gavin’s wife are stroke survivors. These personal connections have strengthened their passion for the American Heart Association’s mission to end heart disease and stroke.

“I volunteer to give back to the community that has provided for our family for many years and to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Jason Brownlie. “My father has always said ‘Be big, be a builder,’ and that is what we are doing at the Heart Ball. We are thankful for those who support the mission to build a world of longer, healthier lives.”

The 2025 Rochester Heart Ball is sponsored by Crosby Brownlie, Inc., Schuler Hass Electric, J.W. Danforth, O’Connell Electric, Local 435, Postler & Jaeckle, Meier Supply, American Packaging, Ferguson and Lattimore Physical Therapy and will be held on May 17, 2025, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. The annual event is a night to celebrate the Association’s year-round efforts to break down barriers to health in Rochester. Throughout the evening, the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, will honor volunteers and patrons, feature stories of survivors, and entertain guests with dinner, dancing and an exciting auction.
