Monroe County Food Insecurity Project accepting applications

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County (CCE Monroe) has partnered with Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and the Monroe County Legislature to support local organizations dedicated to fighting food insecurity. The Food Insecurity Project strengthens food-based organizations by providing essential resources that address immediate food needs while fostering long-term food security. The project’s mission is to help people get food today and plant the seeds for them to be able to ensure their own sustainable food security going forward.
Since its launch, the Food Insecurity Project has supported over 17 organizations with over $40,000 in direct assistance, enabling them to enhance operations and expand their impact. Support included food safety equipment, garden supplies, outreach materials, and educational resources for residents.
