Cancer awareness and nutrition at the Rochester Public Market

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County (CCE Monroe) SNAP-Education is partnering with UR Wilmot Cancer Institute and Fidelis Care to bring cancer awareness and nutrition education to the Rochester Public Market for a second consecutive year.

Building on the success of our 2024 series, this initiative is designed to raise awareness about different types of cancer while empowering the public with practical, research-based strategies to support cancer prevention, beginning with diet and lifestyle choices.

Join SNAP-Ed NY, Wilmot Cancer Institute, and Fidelis Care at the Rochester Public Market on the following Saturdays: April 12, June 8, August 9, and September 14. There will be live nutrition presentations at 9 and 11 a.m. In addition to exciting new recipes and seasonal nutrition tips, this year will include a special highlight: UR Wilmot Cancer Institute’s Mobile Mammography Unit will be present during one of the events, offering on-site breast cancer screenings, making it easier than ever for marketgoers to prioritize their health while shopping for their families.
