Village of Brockport celebrates Arbor Day

On April 25, the Village of Brockport celebrated its 19th Arbor Day, planting trees on Barry Street and Victory Drive and in Barry Street Park. Village DPW delivered the trees to the planting sites, power augured the planting holes, and supervised the volunteers who planted trees. They were assisted by SUNY Facilities crew who have partnered with the village all 19 years. Volunteeer planters included SUNY Brockport students, high school students, Tree Board members, Village Hall staff, and elected officials. American hornbeam, snowdrift crabapple, Serviceberry, and Bur Oak were planted. A grant from the Department of Environmental Conservation funded the plantings.
