Eagle Scout Award Medal presented to Brady Cook

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Greece Town Board Members Dave DiPonzio, Mike Bloomer, Bill Murphy, and Diana Christodaro for an official Eagle Scout Award Presentation Ceremony during the April 17, 2025 meeting of the Greece Town Board. The Town of Greece Eagle Scout Recognition Medal is presented to all Scouts who have recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in their local troop.
“It is an honor for me to present this proclamation and medal to the hard working and determined young man who has shown that commitment and perseverance lead to success,” said Supervisor Bill Reilich.
Brady Cook of Scout Troop 240 was recognized for his exceptional leadership and community service in completing his Eagle Scout project. After noticing the basketball courts at Basil Marella Park were in disrepair, Brady partnered with the Town and Parks and Recreation Director Peter O’Brien to restore them. With the Town’s support in removing and delivering the rusted backboards, Brady and his team sanded, repainted, and refurbished four backboards and hoops, added new nets, and applied regulation decals. He also led a crew of scouts and adults in painting the support posts, totaling 73.5 volunteer hours from 11 individuals. The $500 project was fully funded by generous donations from family and friends, and the upgraded courts have been met with enthusiastic community feedback.
Brady’s efforts are a true testament to the values of the Eagle Scout rank – leadership, service, and dedication.
