Build your own trolley car

Visitors to the New York Museum of Transportation enjoy a ride through scenic countryside on trolley car 161. On Sunday, June 8, those ages eight and up can build their own one-of-a-kind miniature trolley 161.

Kits of familiar snap-together pieces will be provided, complete with easy, step-by-step instructions. Professional assistance will be on hand to help. These collectible kits are exclusive to the museum and are not available anywhere else.

Build sessions are offered at noon and 2 p.m. and are limited to 10 participants each. Reservations are required at http://www.nymtmuseum.org/trolleybuild.

Price including the trolley kit, participant’s museum admission and trolley ride is $25. Regular admission prices apply for family members or friends who accompany the participants: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65+, and $6 for youths aged 3–12.

The New York Museum of Transportation is open Sundays only, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., late May through October and again at the Christmas holiday time. Located at 6393 East River Road in Rush, the museum features exhibits of trolley cars, a steam locomotive, large model railroad, and the Midtown Plaza Monorail. Two-mile round trip trolley rides are included with admission. For information, visit http://www.nymtmuseum.org infonymtm@gmail.com or call 585-533-1113.
