Local author featured in new Chicken Soup for the Soul cat book

Brockport author Sandy Wright is featured in the new book Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from My Cat (published May 20, 2025), contributing a story “The Bandit and the Burglar” that highlights the meaningful connections we share with our cats and the valuable lessons they teach us.

Originally from Syracuse, Wright earned a B.A. from University of Miami. Now retired and living in the Brockport area, she worked as a secretary, paralegal and musician, playing guitar and singing. She has a 45 record and music video of her originals, and performed in Daytona Beach, San Francisco, and Tokyo.
This new release, Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from My Cat, is filled with 101 true stories that showcase the love, companionship, and life lessons our feline friends provide – whether it’s resilience, gratitude, joy, or simply how to relax. From quirky antics to quiet comfort, these stories remind us why cats hold such special places in our homes and hearts. The collection also emphasizes adopting from shelters, featuring tales of rescued cats, including often overlooked black or senior cats.
