Furthering education among tourism and hospitality professionals in the Finger Lakes has long been a goal of the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance’s (FLTA) Explore Finger Lakes Annual Scholarship opportunity.
Working together with the Finger Lakes business community, FLTA is offering a $2,500 scholarship award to provide financial assistance to learners of all types. Now, in addition to traditional college students, the scholarship is open to industry employees seeking professional certification and career advancement courses.
The scholarship will be awarded at an industry gathering at Seasons on Keuka at Hampton Inn Penn Yan on December 12 to a dedicated tourism and hospitality professional, or a student from the Finger Lakes region who is in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study in a related field.
“We understand that a strong workforce and dedicated leadership are the cornerstones of the tourism and hospitality industry’s future, and are proud to help motivated professionals continue to learn fundamental practices in and out of the classroom,” said FLTA President & CEO Meghan Nulty.
Those currently pursuing secondary education or career certification in tourism and hospitality who are from the 14-county Finger Lakes region are eligible to apply.
