Three Saints Teams Win Sectional Titles

Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer & Game Day Cheer
The boys soccer team defeated Penfield in a 2-0 shutout on October 31 to win the Class AA Championship. This is the team’s third sectional title in three years. Coach Mahoney was named Monroe County Division 2 Coach of the Year and also Section V Class AA Coach of the Year (coaching team pictured). The team moves on to the regional game against Clarence on November 8.

The girls soccer team is co-sectional champions with Spencerport after battling to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, November 1. Shavonne Callahan scored the lone goal for the Saints. After a Penalty Kick shootout win of 4-2, the Saints advance to the regional game. Goalkeeper Tessa Wood (at right, photo from @CCCSDgsoccer on X), Monroe County Division 2 Player of the Year, had 15 saves plus one in penalty kicks. The Saints take on Frontier on November 7.


The Saints also won the Class B Game Day Cheerleading Championship and will compete at the NYSPHSAA State Championships on November 9. Lariana Drumgoole (at right) received the Class B Nancy Saxton Leadership Award for her positivity, leadership, and love for cheerleading, and Coach Christine Kocher (at right) was named Class B Game Day Coach of the Year. Saints’ spirits were high the morning of November 4 as students and staff at the high school cheered on the sectional champion teams during a school-wide parade.
