A Holiday Tradition Continues

Jubilee Church and 58 Main team up to offer free Thanksgiving Dinner

The baton has been passed. Jimmy Z’s 20-year tradition of a free community Thanksgiving dinner will continue. The tradition has been passed on to Marc Marcello, the owner of 58 Main BBQ & Brew. Last year, over 250 turkey dinners were served to the Brockport community free of charge. This year, Jubilee Christian Church is partnering with 58 Main, and both organizations have a single goal: to support and bless more families in our community.

Those who sign up to attend can expect a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixings and an opportunity to celebrate with others in our community. Fifty guests will be seated per half-hour block, increasing the opportunity to serve more people. Guests will dine in the dining room at Jubilee Christian Church, 3565 Lake Road North, Clarkson. Tom the Turkey will also be on hand to Turkey Trot and take pictures with the kiddos.

Local farmers, grocers, and restaurants donate the majority of the food and supplies. Special thanks to Ridgecrest Turkey Farm for their donation of turkeys. That leaves Marc and his team at 58 Main to cook it up, and the volunteers of Jubilee to serve it up.

Reservations are required by visiting Jubilee’s website, jubileechristianchurch.org, or by calling 585-637-8530. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, and the invitation is extended to everyone in the community. Take-out is also available. Donations are welcome but not mandatory, and will go to the Brockport Food and Toy Shelf.

Emelio Sebastian, Pastor of Jubilee, and Marc Marcello both believe in the importance of serving the local community. Ensuring people aren’t alone for the holiday is just one way to give back.
