Trail Feasibility Study comments due by November 14
The Monroe County Parks Department is conducting the Northampton Park Trail Feasibility Study. This study looks to identify opportunities to enhance user safety and improve overall trail conditions. Objectives of the study include an inventory and assessment of the park’s existing trail network, identifying potential connectivity opportunities to the surrounding community, identifying trail improvements, and looking at how to enhance user safety.
Northampton Park is an all-season park located in Brockport. This 900+ acre park offers trails for hiking and horseback riding, a model airplane flying field, a natural playground, soccer fields, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing. There are two enclosed lodges for rental and picnic tables for general use. Springdale Farm is located within the park and is operated by Heritage Christina Services. Springdale Farm is an agricultural education facility open to the public for visits.
An open house was held on October 16 at Northampton Park to gather community input, with more than 70 attendees participating. During the event, informational maps highlighting key points of interest within the park were displayed and are available online as helpful references for anyone wishing to submit additional comments.
Those who were unable to attend are welcome to view the maps and offer feedback until November 14. Visit https://www.monroecounty.gov/parks-northamptontrailstudy.
