Resident signatures required
The Town of Sweden Town Board held an informational meeting on November 25, 2025, to discuss the proposed establishment of a water district serving LaDue Road, Swamp Road, and West Sweden Road. During the meeting, residents received an overview of the project, potential costs, and the grant funding currently secured to support the district.
To move forward, the Town must receive a sufficient number of signatures from property owners in favor of creating the water district. Residents/property owners who support the formation of this district must come to the Town Hall, located at 18 State Street, to sign the official petition.
The Town Board cannot form the district without the required number of signatures. It is imperative that supportive residents sign the petition promptly. Failure to secure enough signatures will result in the district not being formed and the Town losing the $6.75 million in grant funding awarded for this project.
