AREA

•Bacon, Cynthia A., age 81 of Red Creek, died September 2, 2013 at Newark Manor Nursing Home. Survived by three sons, Scott (Mary) Rutty and Todd Rutty of Red Creek, Bill (Sue Pratt) Maxwell of Brockport; five grandchildren, Kara, Zachary, Stephanie, Austin and Ashley; great-grandchild, Bryce; sister, Phyllis Hagerman of Florida.
A Graveside Service was held September 6 at Boxwood Cemetery, Medina. Contributions can be made to the American Lung Association in her memory.

ALBION

•Chapman, Betty M., age 89, died August 4, 2013. Betty was a member of the Albion First United Methodist Church, and was an Elementary Teacher in the Lockport Central Schools for many years, retiring in 1979. She was past President of the Lockport Teachers Union and a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Chapman was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Ina Chapman, her sister, Dorothy Noel, and her niece, Delores Murphy. She is survived by nieces: Diane (Robert) Simpson of Port Orchard, Washington, Donna (James) Cain of Monmouth, Oregon and many cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews as well as a good friend, Larie Vagg.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 15, in the Albion First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Interment, Mt. Albion Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Church in her memory.

BERGEN

•Alianell, Carol Ann Hemmer, age 78, died August 16, 2013 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. Mrs. Alianell was a retiree of the Taylor Instrument Company in Rochester after 25 years of service as their payroll clerk. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Alianell; her children, sons, David Alianell of Rochester and Dr. Sam (Alice) Alianell of The Woodlands, Texas, daughter, Diane (John) Carson of Sanford, North Carolina; her beloved grandchildren, Albert, Amy (Tony), Colton, Jeshua and Sammy and great grandsons Aiden and Austin; sisters Marilyn (Donald) Pursel of LeRoy, Jean (Ron) Pangrazio of LeRoy; brothers Jim (Mickey) Hemmer of California, Tom (Joanne) Hemmer of California and many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Harriet Hemmer, a sister, Joyce Butler, and a brother and sister-in-law, Charlie Kathleen Alianell.
Her Memorial Mass was held September 7 at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, (St. Peter’s Church), LeRoy. Contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory.

BROCKPORT

•Brown, Marilyn M., died September 2, 2013 at age 88. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Brown, son Robert A. Brown, Jr., brother Eugene Doebert and nephew Edward Doebert. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa M.  Brown; sisters-in-law Delores (Eugene) Doebert and Doris (Bruce) Brown; niece Diane Chapman; life-long friends Iris Laine and June Zednick; honorary daughter Leah Reich; and numerous nieces and nephews on the Brown side of the family. Marilyn graduated from East Aurora High School in 1942. She was employed by K-Mart in North Aurora for over thirty years.
Funeral Services were held September 7 in Montegomery, Illinois. Interment, St. Paul’s Cemetery. Donations can be made to Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, 170 West Avenue, Brockport, NY 14420 in her memory.

•Cameron, Helen L., August 31, 2013, at age 95. She is predeceased by her husband, James C.; and grandson, Ryan J. Survived by her sons, Robert (Diane) Cameron, James C. (Rose) Cameron, Jr., and Edward Killeen; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held September 4 in the Community Room at Royal Gardens Apartments. Contributions can be made to the World Wildlife Federation in her memory.

•Hamlin, James M., On August 17, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; his daughter, Christine Hamlin, sons, Craig and Curt (Ann); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Jacob, Amanda, Ashley, Jonathan and Michael; great-grandchildren, Zander and Violet; sister, Bonnie (Gary) Callaghan; brothers, Dennis (Janet), Richard, Harry (Sue); many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was held August 31 at the Brockport Firemen Exempts, Brockport. Contributions can be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 South Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14623 in his memory.

•Jamele, John Louis, On August 30, 2013, at age 82. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Helga (Hanemann); mother, Maude; father, Pasquale; sister Joanne, and brother Carl. Survived by his children, Patricia and Gregory; grand-children, Maxwell and Willa Dean, Geoffrey and Michael Jamele; and brother, Andrew. John served in the US Army from 1948-1952 in Japan and in the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle in 1951, along with several other service decorations. He served again from 1956-1959 in Germany. He was a past master of Unity Lodge 479 F.&A.M., Spencerport.
A Memorial Service was held September 3 at Fowler Funeral Home, Brockport.

•Lang, Marian Q., Died August 31, 2013 at age 84. Predeceased by her husband, Carlton, parents, Roy and Marian Quinn; brothers, Donald Quinn and Wirt Quinn; and sisters, Doris Ray, Betty Blossom, and Beverly Hare. Survived by her daughters, Roxanne (Richard) Morabito, Renee Fromm (Jay Wayda), Robin (Harry) Donahue; grandchildren, Nicholas (Denise), Jason (Laura), Jeremy (Anna), Bryan (Rachel), Kayla (Tyler), Shelby, Alyssa, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Cody, Nicholas, Jessica, Jamie, Mattingly, and Maris; brother, Van Quinn; sister, Barbara Hanf; and many loving nieces and nephews. Marian was a graduate of Brockport High School in 1946. She was a longstanding member of the First Baptist Church of Brockport and was employed by Eastman Kodak (where she met her husband Carl), SUNY Brockport, and the Brockport Central School District Transportation Department. In 1982, Carl and Marian retired to North Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Marian’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Brockport, 124 Main Street. A family farewell will be held at Brockport Lakeview Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Brockport or Hospice of Rochester Lifetime Care in her memory.

CHILI

•Ackerman, Christine, August 30, 2013 at age 49. Christine is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert Ackerman; daughter, Gina Ackerman; father-in-law, John Ackerman; her “fur” babies; brothers and sisters-in-law; aunts and uncle; several nieces and nephews; cousins; dear friends.

CHURCHVILLE

•Paine, Marlene Shute, August 30, 2013. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Paine, Survived by her children Derrick (Shelli) Paine, Debbie Young, Daryl (Andrea) Paine; six grandchildren; two great grandsons; and son-in-law, Richard Young.
Her Funeral Mass was said September 7 at St. Christopher’s Church, North Chili. Inurnment in Hunt Hollow Cemetery, Portage, New York. Contributions can be made to Notre Dame Retreat House, P.O. Box 342, Canandaigua in his memory.

•Stutzman, David, Suddenly, August 31, 2013 at age 67. David is survived by his wife, Sharon M. Stutzman; children, Cyndi (Scott) McElligott, Tracy (Joe) Drollinger, Diana (Michael) D’Ambrosia and David J. Stutzman (Tammy Marvin); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers; four sisters; nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. David is a Veteran of the United States Army.
His Celebration of Life was held September 4 at the Calvary Chapel of Rochester. Committal Service was held September 8 at Bath National Cemetery, Bath, New York.

CLARENDON

•Prevost, Richelle E., On August 27, 2013 at age 23. Predeceased by her brother Craig and grandmother Connie Davis. She is survived by her parents Stephen and Sherri; sisters Brittany and Jamie; her aunt Brenda; grandparents; step-mother Amy; many other family and friends.
A Funeral Service was held August 31 at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment September 3 in Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport. Contributions can be made to Unity Chemical Dependancy Treatment in her memory.

•Werner, Edward J., On August 27, 2013 at age 69. Predeceased by his wife Sharon, parents Edward Sr. and Lillian, and three grandchildren Michael Adams Jr., Brittney Adams and RJ Jacobs. He is survived by his children Mindy, Cheri (Chris) Dawson, Melissa (Ford) Collins, Edward P. Werner, step-children Deborah (Nick) Pietropaolo, Tyler Prashaw, Bobbie Jo (Wes) Jacobs, 13 grandchildren; siblings Sonja Smith, Gary (Mary Rose) Werner, Charlene Ellis; many nieces and nephews.
His Mass of Christian Burial was held August 31 at Nativity BVM Church, Brockport. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Hospice of Orleans or Medina Memorial Hospital in his memory.

•Hermance, Arthur G. “Art”, September 2, 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Durrant; close friend, Willet Wood Jr.; granddaughters, Chelsea and Jayce Durrant; brothers, James (Dorothy), Robert (Annie) and Paul Hermance; sister, Gertrude Carter; many nieces and nephews and his special friend, Brandy.

•Schmelzer, Sandra D., August 31, 2013, age 78. Survived by her children, Melody (Vince) Sharkey, Debby (Doug) Yockel and Gene Schmelzer; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; longtime companion, Ron Weather. Also her brothers, sister, many other relatives and dear friends.

•Foster, Jeanette E., September 1, 2013, at age 89. Survived by her husband, Ed Foster; her children, John J. Foster, Margaret M. Burke, Bernadette A. Foster, Patricia F. •Harris, David L., Suddenly August 29, 2013, age 47. •Kimmel, Frank “Duke”, September 4, 2013, age 88. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia, 2005. He is survived by his children, Douglas (Betty) Kimmel, Kathryn (David) Diedrich, Kory Farmer (Mark Mono), Dann (Donna Jean) Kimmel; grandchildren, Mark (Michele), Matthew (Jennifer) Kimmel, Paul (Jennifer) and Eric Diedrich, Rene (Jim) Constantine, Jason and Randy Kimmel; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his great-grandson, Thomas Angelo. Duke was a WWII Veteran and an Eastman Kodak Company retiree.

•Handley, Mark A., September 1, 2013, age 52. Predeceased by his father, Ralph Handley. NORTH CHILI

•Sullivan, William “Billy” (Larkin, Schultz), of North Chili and Frederick, Maryland, died September 1, 2013 at age 28 after a brief illness. Billy is survived by loving mother and best friend, Bridget; Dad, David; sisters, Lisa and Genesa; brothers Alex and Leo (Heather); beloved grandparents, Terry and June (“Monga”); precious niece, Terri June; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Billy graduated from Churchville-Chili Senior High in 2004. He had many friends where he worked at TR’s Charbroil and Terry’s Take-Out. Billy had a passion for sports. He was an avid fan of the 49’ers, the Fighting Irish (Notre Dame), the Florida Gators, and Kobi’s Lakers. He had incredible statistical knowledge of these sports, a passion that he shared with his Grandpa Sullivan.
A Memorial in Celebration of Billy’s Life was held September 4 at St. Pius X Church, Chili.

Ogden

•Duritza, Editha, August 27, 2013. Predeceased by her husband, Richard and daughter, Karen. Survived by her sons, Donald (Barbara) and Stephen (Kristina); grandchildren, Marybeth, Jessica (Craig), Christopher (Matthew), Sam, Karen and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Connor, Stephen, Ashley, Craig and Caleb; many dear friends and relatives. She and her husband ran a successful plumbing business and Ed’s Mini Mart. She was a charter member of the Churchville Moose and a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 1830.
Her Funeral Mass was said August 31 at St. Pius the Tenth Church, Chili. Interment St. Pius Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or one’s favorite charity in her memory.
