Lyndon D. Billings
•Billings, Lyndon D. Sr., age 88, died January 3, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Billings was predeceased by two brothers: E. Rexford and Orman B. Billings. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Carol; sons, Lyndon (Edwina) Billings Jr., of Kendall, Earl (Tracy) Billings of Kendall, Stephen (Joanne) Billings of Clifton Springs, Mark (Kerry) Billings of Burnt Hills, NY; grandchildren: Travis, Molly, Blake, Hannah, Ethan, Ashley, Erin and Emma; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Billings was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving in Japan, was a member of the Kendall United Methodist Church and the Social Lodge #0713 F&AM. A graduate of Cornell University, Lynn taught science in the Lyndonville and Kendall School systems. He was the former owner of Nationwide Insurance Company in Holley, and was a member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension, the United Way and the Dairlea Board. Lynn was also a charter member of the Orleans County Legislature serving for over 20 years as a Legislator with four of those years being the Chairman of the Legislature. He and his sons ran Billings Farms in Kendall for many years.
His Memorial Service was held January 6 in the Kendall United Methodist Church. Spring interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Kendall United Methodist Church in his memory.
