•Stirk, Thomas J., age 93, died June 13, 2014 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Doris; his children, Michael (Sally) Stirk of Albion, Dennis (Sara) Stirk of Albion, Ann (Stanley) Bakeman of Florida, John (Lisa Lessard) Stirk of Albion, Thomas (Joanie Winkley) Stirk of Albion, Martin (Diane) Stirk of Albion, Dorothy (Alain) Belaveau of Mechanicsville, New York; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was a United States Army Veteran having served in the European Theater during WWII in the 1st Armored Tank Division. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus St. Joan of Arc Assembly 4th Degree, BPO Elks Lodge #1006, Sheret Post #35 American Legion and was a Life Member of the Albion Fire Department Active Hose Company. Tom was a former employee of the Albion Correctional Facility retiring in 1975.
His Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 17 at Holy Family Parish. Interment, St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Military Honors. Donations can be made to Holy Family Parish or Hospice of Orleans in his memory.
