•Smith, Ruth Toal Ergott, Albion, age 96, died October 4, 2014 in The Villages of Orleans following a long illness. Ruth was a member of the Gaines-Carlton Community Church and worked as a cashier for 16 1/2 years at Loblaws and then as a receptionist at Orleans Agencies. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her first husband, Delvin Ergott, her second husband, Clyde Smith, her son Delvin Ergott Jr. and four brothers: George, Wilson, Robert and Richard Toal. She is survived by her daughters, Deloris (Leon) Standish of Albion, Diana (Jason) Jeffords of Albion; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ergott of Waterport; two brothers, Donald (Betty) Toal of Texas and Paul (Esther) Toal of Batavia; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Service was held October 11 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion. Interment in Mount Albion Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Carlton Fire Department, 14341 Waterport-Carlton Road, Albion, NY 14411 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society NY Chapter, 1650 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 in her memory.
