Harold F. Hack
•Hack, Harold F., Gates: May 3, 1917-Nov. 30, 2014. Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Arlene (Witmeyer); children, David, Steven (Ellen) of Texas, Tom (Peggy); 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Stephanie Hack; and many loving nieces, and nephews.
Harold was a WW II Army Veteran, Staff Sgt. 5th General Hospital, in the Harvard Unit. After WWII, Harold completed course work at both RIT and the University of Rochester. He was employed as a Senior Industrial Photographer with the Eastman Kodak Company, retiring after 35 years of employment.
Harold was a long time trustee of the West Avenue United Methodist Church, a Leader of Otetiana Council Boy Scout Troup 25, active in the YMCA Indian Guide Program, and President of the Gates Ski Club. Harold was an accomplished downhill skier and loved ice skating, cross country skiing, camping, and golf. He was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life; he had great passion for travel and helping all those around him. In 1930, Harold was the Duncan Yo-yo Champion. Harold was competent in a variety of trades, as all those who knew him would attest: He was the Ultimate Handyman.
Family and friends are invited to his Memorial Service, Saturday, December 13th 1PM at Elmgrove United Methodist Church, 1500 Spencerport Rd., Rochester, NY 14606. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elmgrove United Methodist Church.
