Marlin R. Smith

•Smith, Marlin R., Gates: March 10, 2015. Born April 17, 1934 in Altoona, PA . Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Frances (Himelsbaugh); his first wife, Marilyn (Kahle) and infant daughter; his brothers, William and Dale. Survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Michele (Paquette); sister, Shirley (Frank) Hosley; sister-in-law, Diane Beckman; son, Marlin T. Smith; daughters, Marcia Lynn (Shaun) O’Brien, Michaelyn (Carey) Parker, Melanie Smith; step-son, Dean W. Ashby; grandchildren, Marlee Faircloth, Annette (Nate) Long, Jesse (Nichelle) Parker, Laureen Parker; great-grandchildren, Corrine and Lillie Faircloth, Kaleigh Long, Willow, Ivan and Zinnia Parker; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marlin grew up in Rushford, NY. He attended Houghton College and graduated from St. Bonaventure University. He taught the Sciences in Olean and the Rochester City School District. He was a real estate agent, property owner and landlord in the City of Rochester. Marlin built his home in Churchville and excelled at building and repairing big and small. He was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider and enjoyed the many adventurous trips with family and friends. Marlin will be remembered for his love of God and family, his work ethic, mind of his own and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.

No prior calling. Interment at the convenience of the family.
