•King, Joan F., Medina: Joan F. King, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center in Rochester, NY.
She was born January 24, 1935, the daughter of the late E. Luther and Ruth (Rice) Reed. She graduated Medina High School in 1952 and married D. John King on June 12, 1954. They settled in Medina raising four children. In 1971 they bought grocery store in Portageville, NY and after a number of years purchased Bells Supermarket in Dansville, NY retiring in 1993. They then moved to Fort Myers, FL area and returned to Albion in 2005. They lastly relocated to Hilton, NY. She was a member of the Medina United Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting and computers.
She is survived by her husband, D. John King; 4 children, Bruce (Laurie) King of Spencerport, NY, Barbara (Charles) Patnode of Phelps, NY, Lisa King of Manlius, NY and Krista (Jeffrey) Falzarano of Castle Pines, CO.; 8 grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren; Brother, Norman Reed of Santa Clara, CA. and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, Medina, NY 14103 on (TODAY) Friday, April 17, 2015 at 3PM with Rev. Tony Hipes officiating.
