•Howson, Sharon Elizabeth, Gates: Passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 after a long illness. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Winifred Howson; her beloved sister, Joy Howson. Sharon leaves behind many cousins, dear friends and caregivers whose lives she touched in ways too numerous to measure.
A graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College, Sharon was a teacher at heart and shared her love of English and public speaking with the many students she taught in the Rochester City School District, including Edison Tech and Franklin High Schools.
A woman of deep and abiding faith in her Savoir Jesus Christ, Sharon’s generous and creative spirit, concern for others, and uncomplaining suffering were a testimony to her strength as an individual and love for her Lord. A special expression of gratitude to those dedicated friends who cared for her at her home in her final days.
A Christian Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Sharon’s life will take place at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Ave. on Friday October 30th at 11AM. Interment will be private Grove Place Cemetery. Friends wishing may contribute to Roberts Wesleyan College Memorial Fund, 2301 Westside Dr., Rochester, NY 14624 in her memory.
