(Holley) Alice Zappone, age 102, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2015 at The Villages of Orleans. Alice was born September 1, 1913 in Hulberton to the late Frank and Beatrice (Leone) Zappone.
Alice was a graduate of Holley High School as well as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and also attended R.B.I. She spent most of her adult life living and working in New York City. She was a secretary at a naval yard in Washington D.C. during World War II.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters: Marie D’Andrea, Lena Kinnear, Grace Carlo and Evelyn Kinnear.
Alice is survived by nieces and nephews: Kathleen (Edward) Fitzsimmons of Albion, Francis (Donna Lavender) D’Andrea of Holley, Jane Petta of Holley, Kevin (Karen) Kinnear of Greece and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Mass for Alice will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Holley, 11 S. Main St. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be held privately.
