North Chili/Pittsburgh, PA: Sunday, May 29, 2016 at age 91. Born March 31, 1925. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Angeline; children, Carol Scuro, DMD (Bradford Emery DMD), Marietta (James) Veligdan; grandchildren, Hannah (Eric) Sanicola, Nicholas Emery DDS, (Sarah Day, DDS), Matthew Veligdan, Benjamin Samuel (Tracy) Veligdan; great-grandchildren, Henry, Nora and Jonathan; sister, Florence (Robert); brother, Michael Scuro; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sam’s greatest passion was the love of his family. He was a Research Physicist and had 34 patents in the field of Metallurgy. He sang in the Men’s Chorus of the Pittsburgh Opera Co., and was an avid Model Aviation Enthusiast, winning many awards.
