Hilton/Texas: Elizabeth “Betty” Smith Kintz, 98, passed away June 10th at the Houston County Nursing Home in Crockett, Texas. She was born April 28, 1918 in Hilton, daughter of Stanley and Eva (Sands) Smith. She is predeceased by her husband, Hanlon Cosman Kintz and her son-in-law, Roger G. Baxter. She attended Brockport Normal School graduating in 1937 after which she taught lower grades before marrying Hanlon on Nov. 22, 1939. She was an avid card player and she enjoyed doing word puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Baxter; her grandson, William (Lecel) Baxter; great-grandchildren, Grace, Jacob, John and Hope Baxter; nephews, James (Jeanette) Smith, Daniel Smith and nieces, Susan Smith and Sarah (Michael) Watkins; also great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call WED. 2-3 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home Inc., 735 East Ave., Hilton where her Funeral Service will be held at 3 after calling followed by Interment, Parma Union Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
