Brockport – Passed away on Friday November 9, 2018, after a heroic fight at the age 65. Predeceased by 2 daughters, his parents Howard and Caroline and his brother Gerry. He is survived by his son Steven, daughter Heather (Norman Whitsell II), grandchildren Hunter, Austin, and Kendal, sister Sandra (Robert) Nixon, 2 nephews, 1 niece, and many other loving family and dear friends. Roy was a 4th generation firefighter with over 38 years of service. Past Battalion Chief of the Brighton Company #3 and Past Assistant Chief of the Brockport Fire Department. He was the Water Superintendent for the Town of Sweden and had many years of service with the Monroe County Water Authority. Roy was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Family will receive friends on Sunday November 18th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Ave., Brockport, where his funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 10 AM in the Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Rd. Penfield, NY 14526.
