Brockport, NY – James S. “Jim” Miceli, age 68, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on January 22, 2019. He was born April 5, 1950 in Albion to the late James F. and Lillian (LoIacono) Miceli.
Jim was an Attorney for over 40 years with his own practice in Brockport. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, watching tv, reading, scuba diving, hiking and spending time with family. Jim was a 1968 graduate of Albion High School. He earned his B.S. degree from S.U.N.Y. Brockport, and his J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law. Being an SU graduate, Jim was an obvious Syracuse Orangeman fan, as well as being a fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Jim benefited dearly from his close relationship with his family and friends over the past 6 months as he fought a courageous battle with cancer. He cherished all the special moments he spent with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marcy (Strouse), daughter, Sarah (Brad) Smith of Olathe, KS, son, Daniel (Aimee Richardson) Hodge of Gates, NY, granddaughter, Kira Skye Hodge, sister, Joanne (Eileen Pagan) Miceli of Sag Harbor, NY, as well as countless relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Monday, January 28th from 3:00-7:00pm. Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church, Park St. Albion, NY 14411 on Tuesday, January 29th at 10:00am. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Rd. S. Rochester, NY 14623.
