Gates/Henrietta – Entered peacefully into rest on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the age of 98 (1921-2019). He will be forever in our hearts. Predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Agnes J. and brother, Francis J. A loving father, he is survived by daughters, Lois Gruenauer and Joan (Ronald) Geck, grandchildren, Jeffery and Jennifer Geck and cousin, Shirley Hall.
Alfred was a WW II Veteran with the Army Air Corp. He was the owner and General Manager of Genesee Welding Works, Inc. 1954-1998. He was an active member of St. Helen’s Parish, including many years as a bingo caller. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing from his boat and trips with family and friends.

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, Friday 5-7PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 11AM at St. Helen’s Church, 310 Hinchey Rd. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Brentland Woods Assisted Living, 3831 E. Henrietta Rd., Henrietta, NY 14467.
