Brooklyn, New York – Unexpectedly at home on May 7th at the age of 78. She was cared for lovingly by her son, Zack Perkins (Mimi Vicente), and daughter, Susan Epstein (Jason) Flanders. She graduated from Spencerport High School in 1959, Harpur College, Class of 1963 (now SUNY Binghamton), and went on to be the first in her family to earn a Masters degree. She spent her career caring for the children of New York during a 30-year tenure with the New York City Administration of Children’s Services. Her life in New York was filled with many adopted animals, plants, live music and theatre, service to her church at Our Lady of Grace, and her grandchildren. She traveled to Rochester regularly to visit her family (brothers W. James (Jean) Curran, Daniel L. (Joanne) Curran, John F. (Connie) Curran) and friends in the area. In her memory, donations may be made to Animal Care Centers of NYC, your local ASPCA or children’s services charities.
