Mendon – Barbara Alda Hurlbut, 85, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away August 20, 2020 with family and loved ones by her side.
She was born to the late William and Martha Cox in 1934 in Dayton, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Owen (Griffen), her son, Robert W. Hurlbut (Sarah), her grandchildren, Robert G. Hurlbut and Michael F. Hurlbut. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert H. Hurlbut and her brother, William Cox.
Barbara was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rollins College in 1956 where she was President of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Barbara enjoyed dancing ballet from childhood through college. She loved music, playing the piano, golf, tennis, nature and animals. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Rochester for more than 50 years. Her sense of humor, kind spirit and thoughtfulness brought great joy to those around her.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
