Arlene R. Kuhl

Greece – Arlene Rose Kuhl (Davern), 82, formerly of Chenango Bridge, passed on August 24th, 2020. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Madeline and Clarence Davern; sister, Joan Sprague; brother, Harold Davern; and son, Lawrence. She is survived by daughter Krista L McMann; son Craig L Kuhl (Nicole); daughter Kelly M Kuhl-Knapp (Jeff); grandchildren Tia, Ryan, Autumn and Kaitlyn; and the father of her children, Ludwig Kuhl Jr.

Arlene had a wonderful smile, beautiful blue eyes, and a sense of humor that was very welcoming to others. Arlene will be remembered by her family, friends and neighbors for the kind person she was, who harbored no ill will toward others, and had an easy laugh. She was a great listener and will be missed as someone who you could always call to laugh with, rant to, or cry to. She took a lot of joy in gardening and has passed that on to all of her children. We will honor her by continuing to add beauty to the world.

Arlene was employed for many years by Ikon, formerly Kex Copy Products. She was very proud of her accomplishments in her career. She started as one of the original employees. Seeing her strengths they paid for her college degree. With that, and hard work, she advanced in the company, eventually managing and deploying their computer systems. She was the recipient of many awards and a conference room was named in her honor upon retirement. She had many wonderful memories of her coworkers and friends she worked with through the years.

Her greatest joy in life was being our mother and grandmother. She provided constant support and encouragement throughout our lives. A special appreciation by her son for having such faith in him through his teenage years and continued kindness as an adult – always providing positive support and praise. She will be dearly missed. We will honor her by continuing to support and encourage each other.

A special thank you from the family for the support given by the HCR physical and occupational therapists. Their kindness and guidance was very helpful during this challenging time. Their visits brightened our mother’s day, bringing out her wonderful smile.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Please leave any condolences on the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home website obituary.
