Bill K. Gilliam
Pikeville, KY – Passed suddenly on September 29, 2020. Born July 13, 1939 in Pikeville, KY. Predeceased by his parents, Roscoe & Alvaretta Gilliam and his younger brother, Gary Gilliam. Survived by his wife, Claudia Gilliam; his Aunt Bonnie Bevins and her sons, Bruce Bevins and Barry Bevins; his daughters, Melinda Wake, Tracy Gilliam and Julie Prest; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ken Gilliam and Brett Gilliam and many cousins.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1963 to May 1966, with time spent in Vietnam. After discharge from the Air Force, he found employment at Eastman Kodak in 1967 and retired from Kodak in 1991. After retirement he worked for several years at Brockport High School as part of the grounds crew and in security. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #173 in Brockport, NY. Bill was an avid squirrel and rabbit hunter. He cultivated a large vegetable garden every year. He would tell jokes to any who would listen. He was a huge fan of the Kentucky Wildcats men’s college basketball team.
No calling hours or memorial service, per his wishes. Interment in private family cemetery in Kentucky.
