Chili – Douglas Andrew Van Putte, age 84, of Rochester New York, died peacefully Easter Sunday, 4 April 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett William Van Putte and Helen Armstrong Burns and by his brother Ronald Everett Van Putte. Doug is survived by his devoted loving wife Sandra Steele Van Putte. He is also survived by his children Laura Jean (Asher) Brand, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Baston, Andrew (Martha) Van Putte, Robb (Cinnamon) Van Putte, Ann (Michael) McDermott, Gregory (Judy) Jobes. He adored and is loved by thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
He attended John Marshall High School in Rochester New York and then earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. Doug retired from Eastman Kodak after working there for over 30 years. He enjoyed family, friends, and neighbors, gardening, genealogy, sang in a local barber shop quartet, and volunteered at the Chili Public Library. Dining out with family and friends brought him much pleasure, as did all things Scottish.
