Chili – Suddenly, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at age 69. Predeceased by his parents, Paul & Rita Bietry. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia (Coon); siblings, Anne (Thomas) Quartley, Joseph (Teresa) Bietry and David (Carol) Coon; uncle, John Stich; loyal companion, Blaze; 5 fur ones; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Herb was a graduate of Holy Ghost Grammar School, Cardinal Mooney High School and St. John Fisher College. He then earned his Master’s in Theology at St. Bernard’s Institute. Herb was a retiree of Baker Commodities after 36 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Chili Fire Dept., where he served as Treasurer for 25 years, and a member of the former Chili Ambulance Squad 1. As an ordained minister of the Permanent Diaconate of the Diocese of Rochester, he served at St. Marianne Cope Parish in Henrietta and was a current Deacon at the Parish of the Holy Family in Gates.

Friends may call at the Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd. Rochester, NY 14606, where Herb will lie in state on Tuesday from 10:30AM -1:00PM. His Funeral Mass will immediately follow calling at 1:00PM at church. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chili Fire Dept. 3231 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624.
